At Dreamcatcher, we believe in providing flexible subscription options. You can cancel your subscription at any time, and we make the cancellation process simple and straightforward. This policy explains how to cancel your subscription, what happens after cancellation, and your options for managing your account.
2. How to Cancel Your Subscription
Method 1: Through Your Account Settings (Recommended)
- Log in to your Dreamcatcher account
- Navigate to Account Settings or Billing
- Click on "Manage Subscription"
- Select "Cancel Subscription"
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm cancellation
- You will receive a confirmation email
Method 2: Contact Customer Support
If you prefer or encounter any issues canceling through your account settings, you can contact us directly:

- Include your account email address
- We will process your cancellation within 1 business day
3. What Happens After Cancellation
Immediate Effects
When you cancel your subscription:
- Your subscription will be set to not renew
- You will receive a confirmation email
- No further charges will be made after the current billing period ends
- Your cancellation is effective immediately (no automatic renewal)
Access to Paid Features
After canceling, you will retain full access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period:
- If you cancel on January 15th and your billing date is February 1st, you have access until February 1st
- This applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions
- You can continue using all Pro or Premium features during this time
- Your learning progress and data remain intact
Transition to Free Tier
At the end of your current billing period:
- Your account automatically converts to the free tier
- You will be limited to 10 conversations per month
- Advanced features (pronunciation analysis, custom topics, etc.) will be disabled
- Your learning progress and vocabulary data remain saved
- You can still track your progress and review past conversations
4. Cancellation Timing and Billing
When to Cancel
You can cancel at any time during your subscription period. However, please note:
- Canceling early in your billing cycle does not result in a prorated refund
- You have already paid for the full billing period, so you might as well use it
- There is no advantage to canceling immediately vs. waiting until the end of your billing period
No Prorated Refunds
Important: Cancellation does not result in a prorated refund for unused time. For example:
- If you paid $20 for a monthly subscription and cancel after 10 days, you will not receive a refund for the remaining 20 days
- You will retain access for the full 30 days you paid for

5. Reactivating Your Subscription
You can reactivate your subscription at any time:
Before Current Period Ends
If you change your mind before your paid access expires:
- Go to your account settings
- Click "Reactivate Subscription"
- Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of the current period
- No additional charges until your next billing date
After Subscription Has Ended
If you resubscribe after your paid period has ended:
- Select your preferred plan (Pro or Premium)
- Enter payment information (or use saved payment method)
- Your subscription starts immediately
- All your previous progress and data will still be available
- You may be eligible for promotional pricing (if available)
6. Data Retention After Cancellation
We understand that you may want to return to Dreamcatcher in the future. Therefore:
- Your account remains active: Your account is not deleted when you cancel
- Learning progress is saved: Your vocabulary, conversation history, and progress tracking data are retained
- Limited access: Free tier features remain available
- Data retention period: We retain your data indefinitely unless you request account deletion
7. Account Deletion
If you want to completely delete your account and all associated data:
How to Delete Your Account
- First, cancel your subscription (if you have one)
- Email support@catch-your-dream.com with the subject "Delete Account"
- Include your account email address
- We will confirm your identity and process the deletion within 7 business days
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account:
- All personal information is permanently deleted
- All learning progress and conversation history is deleted
- All voice recordings are permanently deleted
- You will lose access to the platform immediately
- This action cannot be undone
What We Retain
For legal and business purposes, we may retain:
- Transaction records for accounting and tax purposes (as required by law)
- Basic records of Terms of Service violations (if applicable)
- Aggregated, anonymized usage data for product improvement
8. Pausing Your Subscription
Currently, we do not offer a "pause" or "freeze" option for subscriptions. Your options are:
- Continue subscription: Keep your paid plan active
- Cancel and resubscribe: Cancel now, resubscribe when you're ready to continue learning
- Downgrade to free tier: Cancel paid subscription and use limited free features
9. Forced Cancellation by Dreamcatcher
We reserve the right to cancel your subscription in the following circumstances:
- Payment failure: If your payment method fails and we cannot process your subscription renewal
- Terms violations: If you violate our Terms of Service
- Fraudulent activity: If we detect fraud or abuse
- Chargeback: If you initiate a chargeback without contacting us first
In such cases, you will be notified via email and your account may be immediately downgraded to free tier or suspended.
10. Annual Subscriptions
If we offer annual subscription plans in the future, the following applies:
- You can cancel at any time during the annual period
- You retain access for the full year you paid for
- No prorated refunds for unused months
- Annual subscriptions do not auto-renew after cancellation
11. Gift Subscriptions
If we offer gift subscriptions in the future:
- Recipients can cancel to prevent auto-renewal after the gift period ends
- The gift period itself cannot be canceled or refunded once redeemed
- Purchasers of gift subscriptions cannot cancel after purchase
